Our story

Come, sit &
stay awhile.

Todd Carey

Walk through the doors of Uncle Bear's and you enter a lifetime of experiences told by an enthusiastic storyteller — founder Todd Carey. It's a relaxing hangout where strangers become welcomed guests and where there's a genuine affection for man's best friend.

Framed canine photos line the walls — beloved family pets of guests and team alike — inspired by the brewery's namesake, Bear, the Carey family's cherished black lab mix. A place where humble beginnings and a passion for connection are sparked, where everyone belongs and all become family.

Lasting relationships are nurtured over casual and tasty food paired with a namesake craft beer. The perfect recipe for acquaintances to become friends while dining with their pups on the patio.

Bear's Journey

A good ol' boy.

Texas Tech → Doggie Beach, San Diego → snow-capped New Mexico → the Hot Springs of Arkansas → the Valley of the Sun.

Bear was a fun-loving, good ol' boy — a cherished black lab mix and man's best friend to founders Todd and Liz Carey. He was called "Uncle Bear" by the Carey's three nieces. Today when you walk through our doors you become part of our family's story, a tale told best through the adventures of Bear and the lives of the canines whose photos line our walls.

It's a relaxing hangout surrounded by good people, great food, and our own locally brewed craft beer. So, come, sit & stay for a doggone good time.
